Receipt and list scanning

Snap a grocery receipt and the items check themselves off. On Family Plus, photograph a handwritten list and it becomes a real one.

Receipt scan (every plan)

Open a shopping list, tap the scan button and photograph the receipt. Dewey reads the items and prices and proposes which list items to check off. Review, then confirm.

List scan (Family Plus)

From the Lists tab, scan a photo of a handwritten or printed list. Dewey turns it into a real list for you to review.

Photos we can read

JPEG and PNG, iPhone HEIC photos, and WebP images from Android share sheets and browsers, up to the usual phone sizes. Very large photos are shrunk before reading. Blurry, dark or partial photos come back as “couldn’t read” rather than guessed at. Scanning says it couldn’t read my photo.

What happens to the photo

It is checked against known-image-abuse hash lists, sent to our AI provider to read the text, and then discarded. It is never stored or shown to other members. Scans count toward your daily AI allowance.
