Do we use cookies?

Family Day2Day sets no tracking or advertising cookies. When you sign in on the web we set two strictly necessary cookies (an access token and a refresh token, both HttpOnly) whose only job is to keep you signed in; they are deleted when you sign out or they expire. We also use your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences and for offline access. localStorage stays on your device; the app reads it to sync your data with your household's shared database and does not send it to anyone else.

What we store in localStorage (web app)

• family-day2day-storage — your session data: member name, family code, list and task state, app settings. This is the core data that makes the app work offline. It never leaves your device except when syncing to your family's shared database.
• Sign-in tokens — a short-lived access token and a longer-lived refresh token so you stay signed in. Cleared when you sign out.
• terms_accepted — the Terms of Use version you accepted, so we do not ask again.
• Preferences — light/dark theme choice and similar settings.

On iOS and Android the same data is kept in the app's own secure storage, not in a browser.

Third-party scripts and cookies

• Stripe — if you subscribe on the web, checkout and billing-portal pages are served by Stripe, and Stripe sets its own cookies there for fraud prevention and to complete your payment, under Stripe's privacy policy.
• Google Sign-In — if you use it, Google's OAuth flow runs in a separate browser window. We receive only your email address and display name. We do not store a Google session token.
• Error reporting — if the web app hits an error, a report (stack trace, browser and device details, with personal data scrubbed) goes to Sentry. Sentry does not set cookies for this.

The app loads no analytics, ad networks, or social-media tracking pixels of any kind. Our marketing pages at familyday2day.com (not the app) use Plausible Analytics, a cookieless service that records page views, the referring site, campaign tags, browser and device class, country, and whether you joined the waitlist. It sets no cookies and uses no local storage; your IP address is used only to work out your country and a hash that changes daily, and is not stored. It is provided by Plausible Insights OÜ and processed in the European Union. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the script is not loaded.

Clearing your data

You can clear all localStorage data at any time via your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. On iOS and Android, deleting the app removes all local data. This will sign you out, but your family's shared data remains in the cloud and you can sign back in.
